Taxonomic survey of four species of subfamily Apaturinae (Lepidoptera: Papilionoidea: Nymphalidae) from western Himalaya, India with illustration of external genitalia

Abstract

Four butterfly species viz., Dilipa morigana (Westwood), Hestina persimilis Butler, Hestinalis nama (Doubleday) and Sephisa dichroa (Kollar) under the subfamily Apaturinae from western Himalaya with external genitalic attributes were described and illustrated in detail. Pictorial identification keys for the taxa have been formulated.
