Abstract

During the year 2015-2016 a systemic survey has been undertaken to know the temporal and spatial distribution of Anopheles mosquitoes in Southern and Northern parts of West Bengal. Anopheles vagus and An. subpictus predominate in southern Bengal while An. barbirostris is more abundant in northern Bengal. Anopheles species were identified morphologically as well as by the sequencing of ITS 2 region of rDNA
